Expand Your World- The Power of Exposure.

Your choices and experience depend on what you are exposed to. Expand your exposure to increase your choices.

Life is all about choices. We can’t stress it enough. Everything about you is a product of choice; the clothes you wear, what you eat, where you live, work and play, what you do, where you worship, what kinds of gadgets you use and even the things you hope to achieve in life. Everything is a function of choice. Every decision we make is a pick from a myriad of alternatives and those alternatives force us to make a choice. Just to eat breakfast in the morning can be such a hassle, especially when you are buoyant. ‘Do I eat oats or fried eggs and bread?' ' Maybe akara will be better but I want to splurge because I deserve it'. 'So why not french toast and sausages with a glass of juice'. On and on the options go. In the same way, every other decision you make for any area of your life follows the same routine. There are options and you have to choose.

Where you are today is a function of the choices you made from all the options that were open to you.

Experience is a function of exposure. By experience here, I mean an event or occurrence that someone is involved in. You cannot experience something you have not been exposed to. Paying ten times the market value for a bottle of coke in a five star restaurant will not make sense until you have the privilege of experiencing the service of a five star hotel. You can only experience a thing when you come in contact with it directly or indirectly. I can only experience the enchantments of Paris when I am exposed to it, either by visiting the place or reading about it, but I will not be able to make any judgement of Paris until I experience it one way or the other. Our experiences therefore depend on the amount of exposure we get.

You cannot make a judgement about a thing until you have experienced it and you cannot experience a thing until you are exposed to it.

If life is all about choices, and our choices depend on our experiences which equally depend on our exposure, then our life inevitably depends on our exposure. Exposure is the opportunity to make contact with a thing, place or person.  Our choices are limited by our exposure. A student who is not exposed to physics, chemistry and biology at the secondary school level, cannot have medicine as an option for the University. However, once we are exposed to a thing, it adds to our wealth of options.

We are limited in our choices, because we have not exposed ourselves to the best of opportunities, abilities and possibilities. If you wish to increase your possibilities in life, if you want to give yourself a better chance at succeeding, then learn to take every advantage and to consciously expose yourself to new and more experiences. Meet as much people as you possibly can, go everywhere you get the opportunity to go, do everything open to you to do and read all that is available to you. Expand your world by increasing your exposure to more experiences. The world is a very big place with lots of layers. Don’t die in your little cocoon, experience as much of it as you possibly can, and watch your chances of succeeding soar.
